  • FAQ

Can I leave the venue at lunch to go to a shop nearby?

No. You must bring your lunch with you. Participants cannot leave the camp between the hours of 10.30 and 15.00. Children can only leave the venue with written consent from a parent or guardian.

How can I ensure I get the correct size jersey?

All of our sizes are the same as standard Umbro sizes available in many shops.

    How long is lunch break?

Lunch will last for 30 minutes. Remember to bring your lunch and drinks

I can't book onto the camp I want because it is full. Can I enroll on the day?

No, once a camp is full no more bookings can be made and no walk-ons will be allowed.

I wish to cancel my booking. Will I receive a full refund?

No, all cancellations carry a €10 cancellation fee. This is detailed in the Terms and Conditions of the Summer Soccer Schools which you agreed to upon booking. In exceptional circumstances it may be possible to facilitate transfer of bookings to alternative dates/venues. If you wish to transfer a booking you must contact 1890 653 653 at least one full week prior to the start date of the original booking.

What age do I have to be to participate in the Summer Soccer Schools?

The Sports Direct FAI Summer Soccer Schools are open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 & 14. The participant must be 6 years of age prior to or on the last day of the Sports Direct FAI Summer Soccer School that they are attending. A child also cannot turn 15 during his/her camp

What is the timetable of the camps?

All camps run Monday to Friday from 10:30hrs to 15:00hrs.

Will any of the international players be visiting the Summer Soccer Schools?

No. It is unlikely that the International players will be available to visit the Summer Soccer Schools because in July they are all involved in pre season training with their clubs and in August their season begins. However it is possible some League of Ireland stars and underage international stars will visit the camps.

Will I come early on the first day?

No. We'll see you there at 10:30hrs on the first day and every day!

    What happens if it rains?

If it rains, we do our utmost to try to keep activities on track. Depending on the severity, the camp will either continue (particularly if the rain isn’t that heavy and starts in the afternoon) or may have to be called off. At venues where there are adequate indoor facilities, kids will be kept occupied with games and quizzes until home time. Please note, that due to the general lack of indoor football facilities at clubs around the country it is generally not possible to move football activities indoors. If the head coach deems it necessary, you may be contacted and asked to collect your child early. It’s rare that this happens, but in Ireland you can never rely on the weather!

I’ve a tendency to be late – can my child head home on his/her own?

All Sports Direct FAI Summer Soccer Schools have a specified start and finish time. It is your responsibility to ensure that your child is collected at the designated finish time or that arrangements are in place to allow him/her to travel home independently. Failure to do so leaves our coaches in a highly vulnerable position and may result in you being required to end your child’s participation on his/her camp.
Please note – only children whose parents have indicated during the application process are allowed to travel independently will be allowed to leave camps unsupervised. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of child safety and welfare across all of our camps and we appreciate your cooperation in our continuing ability to do this
